In a distressing surveillance footage that recently surfaced, an activist and poet named Ryan Carson, aged 32, was shown being brutally attacked and fatally stabbed in Brooklyn. The incident occurred in the early hours of a Monday, just before 4 a.m., in Bedford-Stuyvesant. The video shows Carson and his girlfriend waiting at a bus stop after attending a wedding on Long Island.

In the footage, both Carson, dressed in a gray suit, and his girlfriend, adorned in a blue sleeveless gown, were seen seated on a bench. As they rose to continue walking, a man wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt with a hood covering his head passed by them. This individual, for reasons unknown, began aggressively kicking scooters that were parked by the curb. While attempting to flee from the commotion, Carson stumbled over the bench they had just vacated.

Tragically, the man in the sweatshirt caught up to Carson, pulled him down, and repeatedly stabbed him in the chest. The footage depicts Carson's girlfriend rushing to his aid, only to witness the attacker momentarily walking away from the scene. However, he returned shortly, confronting the girlfriend, which led to speculation by the police that she may have known the attacker prior to this tragic event.

Another woman appeared in the footage, approaching the wounded Carson, expressing her remorse with, "I’m so sorry!" She seemed to be familiar with the attacker, as Carson's girlfriend instructed her to keep an eye on him.

Following the assault, Carson was urgently taken to the Kings County Hospital Center, but sadly, his injuries proved fatal. He succumbed to a stab wound that reached his heart. The crime scene, located at Lafayette Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard, was a short distance from the Bedford-Nostrand avenues train station – the place where the couple had alighted from the subway after their journey from Long Island.

Despite the clear footage of the assailant and a circulating "Wanted" poster highlighting his appearance, with distinct features like his black "Champion" sweatshirt, no arrests had been made by Tuesday afternoon. Furthermore, the weapon used in this heinous act, initially discarded in trash but later retrieved by the attacker, remains missing. Investigators on the scene found a pair of glasses, believed to have been worn by Carson, and two books that Carson’s girlfriend might have been holding during the assault.
